It’s time for another Employee Spotlight! Today we’re learning a bit more about Senior Customer Success Manager Chris Morgan! 👋

Name:

Christopher Morgan

Nickname:

Chris (Chris #1 when our VP of Product, Chris Long, is in the room)

Job title:

Senior Customer Success Manager

Favorite apple 🍎:

Granny Smith

#1 Nudge pup 🐶:

100% Pico

Go-to work snack:

Anything that doesn’t cost $100 at Impact Kitchen, a coffee shop near our office. I also love those fruit chews.

What do you do at Nudge?

Hunting for treasures in data, and using those treasures to make work more fun and productive.

What did you do before Nudge?

At Roots, I was hired on as a consultant and transitioned into HR as the Learning and Innovation Manager. The role predominantly focused on Communication Governance, Global Learning Strategies, and assisting in Innovating in the Omni-Channel space. I’ve been in fashion apparel retail for 20 years, 15 years within a Learning/Development/Operations capacity. Nudge is truly my first time outside of Retail, and I’m so happy I made the move.

What would your career be in another life?

Having the opportunity to moderate discussions for the DESKLESS events we ran last year has awoken my inner Oprah. So, yeah… in another life, I’m 100% Oprah. Outside of that, I love the arts. I’ve spent years performing as a musician, and had a stint producing music videos and short films.  If it’s artsy, I’m kinda into it, so it almost doesn’t matter what it is. My low tolerance for lack of process and disorganization usually has me behind the scenes sorting out messes.

What’s your favorite thing about Nudge?

Great company culture and equally great sofas in our multiple staff lounges.  Both I list under the category of “must experience.”

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I pick a hat that matches the mood that I’m in and listen to live music (usually jazz). I also eat out pretty much every day.

How do you prioritize wellness and self care?

Doing anything that satisfies the senses. For me that’s music and warm scented salt baths with candles (I know it’s kind of extra, but I love it). I used my Nudge annual wellness allowance on a personal trainer because I need to make my body stop falling apart.

What’s something you’re challenging yourself with right now?

Internally, I’m really looking forward to expanding my client portfolio with some big brands. Externally, I’ll be working on recording some new music after a three year hiatus. 2022 is going to be a real vibe.

What’s your favorite Nudge memory?

It’s hard to choose. My newest was the fantastic conversation I had moderating our second DESKLESS event with Mastermind Toys’ Sarah Jordan and Staple Canada’s Rachel Huckle. I loved the quality time I got to spend with our CEO Lindsey Goodchild and CTO Dessy Daskalov building a bookshelf in the office. And I really like the quality time I get to spend with coworkers talking about music and preparing for what sounds like an inevitable Nudge karaoke session.

What unique perspective are you bringing to Nudge?

Having an extensive background in Learning and Development has in every way been an advantage working with my clients. The majority of my clients are either trying to streamline onboarding, expanding on elements of their employee life cycle, or trying to work out a governance strategy around communication. All of these are things that I’m extremely passionate about. I also love fashion and retail in general, so I’m able to provide general counsel around what to do in peak times, and how to use communication as a vehicle to drive success.

What makes Nudge unique?

It’s the people 100%. That’s the number one reason why it felt safe for me to make the jump into tech. I’m surrounded by real people that care about what they do and the impact they make. Sounds cliche, but it’s the truth.
